I did my first runway walk on SLTV live today. It was… exciting and loads of fun. Well, if you missed it i’d try to source for the link to the show hosted by Kay Fairey and starring special guest Didier Rascon.
My short stint to London (again) allowed me to find my mojo again (after getting smacked by a RL designer). I used to think styling in SL is very different from RL and allowed myself to get sucked into all that gimmicky hat/walking stick/over-styled stuff which you will never see on a normal RL runway. The true SL fashion is often inspired by RL fashion, not a circus. There may be times such props are necessary to fit the theme of a show, but not under normal circumstances. So now i’m just happy doing what i’ve been doing in RL for the past 3 years, with much more creative control. Lesson learnt? You do not have to dress like a clown to be named a “good stylist” in SL.
I also (finally) made my debut entry on MAD Image. Its been a busy few weeks and i’m glad i finally managed to put out a styling that i am allowed to share satisfied with, inspired by a RL runway show i attended very recently. Other than that, it’s more “firsts” for me, working with a new magazine, new agencies, new designers, new project and i’m also gonna be styling someone very special this weekend (hopefully) before i jet off to London, yet again.
